An investment in knowledge pays the best interest. - Benjamin Franklin

We run workshops on critical management decisions, applying tools from The GM's Toolkit.  The peer interaction is essential to learning how these tools apply to your situation.  Our 10-step general management training program is an affordable and effective alternative to an MBA.

We also provide one-on-one coaching for mid-career managers who want to round out their skills and knowledge or tackle a specific problem or project.

"The Center’s Training Bureau helped us consolidate four agencies into one by using their Integration Checklist. It was rigorous, but our boards and funders were impressed by and supportive of this huge project. We probably saved 1,000 hours of wasted effort." – Marcia Hendrickson, Executive Director NewBridge of Madison

Dive into one of the Center’s toolkit workshops or click around The GM's Index of Terms and try the 1/4-Page Meeting Planner (available to non-members). Contact us if you get stuck.

Our tools work for large and small decisions in every sector. Some complex challenges need several tools:  succession planning might require the Table of Priorities and the Five-Year Look, followed by the Management Self-Assessment which would, in turn, tee up the Project Planner and Projects Summary.

See our Events page.  We run annual workshops on our introductory tools: Table of Priorities, Question Map, and our 1-Page Project Planner, among others. Non-members are welcome.

"I’d used the Center of Management Terms & Practices’ GM's Index of Terms to conduct our planning, so I was happy to participate in one of their local workshops on its Table of Priorities.  I’ve rarely seen 30 executives as engaged!  It’s now a tool we use to help us understand quickly a prospect’s real priorities: our sales closing rate took a big step up."  – Ed Purcell, President, Vertical Greenwalls

Member and non-member organizations often want us to start with a short “brown bag” presentation or hands-on workshop to apply one of the Center’s tools to a particular situation.

"The case-based “Connect the Dots” training was valuable and efficient. It got my management team asking questions at a high level and helped them collaborate comfortably across departmental lines. It also introduced them to The GM's Index as a powerful, yet easy to use utility. As CEO, I could spot talent for big-picture thinking. We’ve used the Question Map to help make a capital decision worth over $1,000,000."Bryon Johnson, CEO, Madison Cutting Die, Inc.

As a franchisor or OEM, your success correlates 100% to how your franchises and dealers are managed. We can run an energetic, interactive workshop at your conferences to introduce the Center’s standards and tool: Get everyone speaking the same language, helping each other raise their game! We might start with a pilot of the Table of Priorities or run the Question Map in short, facilitated group activities.

We run semi-annual intensives for senior leaders.  These sessions are unique:  a peer delivers a 15-minute setup for a facilitated discussion (at tables of five) of 3 provocative questions.  Topics have included:

•  Future Perfect:  How to Predict the Future Perfectly
•  Backfire:  How Can Success Get in the Way of Success
•  The Nine Stories Leaders Have to Tell
•  Power Up:  Getting Buy-In From Everyone

Consider joining one of our CEO Roundtable Intensives in Madison or Milwaukee.

We help people achieve great things together.
